I am filled with gratitude that I chose to hire Sandy Mendez (@bysandymendez) for hair and make up. Because I’m not much of a makeup gal, when conducting research, I really just focused on reviews that mentioned crazy brides like me wanting to wear their hair down in curls in the middle of the summer (LOL). It seemed Sandy really dominated that area. Throughout the planning process, Sandy was a complete sweetheart and always answered every question I had with patience and detail. As soon as Sandy arrived, I could tell I made the right decision. She was very professional, sweet, and had a very calming aura about her. She was informed of what I wanted based on inspiration photos I sent but also explained them more in depth to get more of an idea of what I liked and did not like about the photos. She also allowed me to try on the different hair accessories I was unsure about until I came to a decision. I loved that she asked me for feedback and gave me options throughout the trial. It allowed me to feel fully confident on the day of the wedding. Since I was running close to our welcome party, Sandy even helped me choose what to wear and then used that to make some minor changes to my look so that the wedding day look would still be somewhat of a surprise. The best use of money I spent on the wedding was hiring Sandy to stay until reception for touch ups! If you're getting married in one of the hotter months and plan to have your venues outdoors especially in the sun like I planned, I would say it is necessary. Not only was she on me like white on rice once photos started and throughout the whole process fixing my hair and makeup, she was also the most helpful angel to everyone. For example, giving my husband an electric fan to use, knowing exactly where something was when we thought it was lost, communicating in Spanish with other vendors and the coordinator, and helping with my dress and veil. She was literally everything! LOL. At times she even felt like a wedding coordinator / maid of honor. My bridal party and I could not have been happier with the services!
