AN EXCEPTIONAL AND TALENTED DUO: A WEDDING BEYOND OUR EXPECTATIONS AND OUT OF TIME!

Fantastic! Incredible! Extraordinary! Marvellous! Fabulous! »
Listening to our loved ones tell us about our wedding which took place a few weeks ago, we can see that they lack superlatives to describe the Béguins et Mustaches team.

And so are we, actually. Julie and Pierre-Yves are part of our great encounters over the past 10 years. With hindsight, it's almost a bit intimidating to think that the choice of your wedding planner + photographer team will influence your wedding so much: the quality, the fluidity, the trust between the service providers and the resulting atmosphere on the day. J. All those human qualities and soft skills that are hard to explain or prove in a job? They are overflowing with it: professionalism, involvement, meticulousness, benevolence, sense of harmony and detail, ability to surround yourself well.

They are exceptional. In the proper sense of the term. An exception in this world of marriage where you can sometimes get lost, doubt and ask yourself a lot of questions. We worked with them for 26 months in a trust and a very pleasant collaboration ( aperitif on the beach included! ). We felt listened to, understood, supported. They are incredibly professional, calm and discreet. On D-Day, a “ Wow! which puts stars in our eyes and those of our loved ones. The magic operates at each moment created with them ( ceremony, reception, meal, brunch and pool party ) and an atmosphere where joy, admiration and inspiration reigns spreads over everyone for 3 days. What we were able to create in terms of emotions, bonds and sacred moments that weekend is unspeakable and we would never have been able to enjoy them in all conscience without their titanic help.

To hire Julie as an organizer is to give yourself a confidence that is priceless. It's allowing your marriage to be experienced as “out of time”, free from all worries. Thanks to her, we had the impression of being able to give life to ideas and a wedding project that we probably could not have carried out with the two of us. Or, at what price in terms of energy? His expertise was really necessary to offer us to go " further together ", to savor a serenity and a fullness that we thought unimaginable in a marriage; to find the right tone, the aesthetics and the necessary elegance; to create subtlety in every detail. As a celebrant, she knew how to co-create with us a solemn, just, deep and sincere moment. She was able to understand our souls, our couple, our families and our friendships. She knew how to weave a “sacred” parenthesis, with what is most beautiful in Love: the bond, hope, others. A commitment ceremony that allowed us to live a majestic moment for our couple with the greatest respect for all those present, religious or not.

To hire Pierre-Yves as a photographer is to ensure a benevolent look at oneself and at one's couple; a creative and subtle eye on his friends and family. It's looking at his wedding photos with the feeling that he was part of the family for having identified people, shyness and extravagance so well. It's collaborating with a talented photographer, who does things seriously without taking himself seriously.

Several weeks after the festivities, our friends and our families are full of praise for this " je ne sais quoi " of magic at our wedding, the quality of all the service providers, the impeccable organization and the beauty of the photos.

We sincerely wish you to cross paths with Béguins et Moustaches. They are simply magical. Calm like Mufasa and creative like the Genie ! You don't know it yet but you want them with you for those intense and powerful moments!

TO RECOMMEND WITHOUT MODERATION: TASTY, LOCAL AND ADORABLE TEAM

We loved entrusting the creation of the wine reception and our wedding meal to Juliette, Charly and their team. We would do it again without hesitation. They knew how to prepare a wine of honor and a tailor-made meal, of high quality (95% vegetarian), made from fresh, local products or from neighboring regions. We were able to avoid food waste and the service was of high quality and very well managed between courses!

Referred by our wedding planner and celebrant (Julie Bichon from Béguins et Moustaches), we let them collaborate with our eyes closed. Whether it was during our first meeting with them over a meal in their restaurant in Bordeaux or during follow-up meetings, the process was very smooth with them. During a meeting, we were able to clearly express the atmosphere and the quality sought for our wedding as well as the ideas for cocktails and dishes that we had savored at the discretion of past weddings or trips. Later, we were also able to share our favorites of the dishes already made by Chemins de table and which are visible on their social networks FB and Instagram.

Through our travels, our regions, our history and our memories, we were lucky enough to be able to imagine with them a vegetarian menu (apart from a few cocktail pieces) that would make us relive 10 years of adventures as a couple!

We had rented the Moulin de Laboirie for our wedding, a green place where nature takes its rightful place. With Julie, our super wedding planner, we therefore imagined a decoration and tableware all in warm colors. The intention ? Make people feel comfortable like a warm evening around the fire in our house in Quebec! We therefore needed a reception and a meal in harmony with these "cocooning" desires.

With a budget of €5,200 for the reception and the meal (60 guests), Chemin de Tables was able to launch the festivities with an original reception, generous, tasty and very well presented. Everything was delicious: from the " Crispy focaccias, arugula and wild garlic pesto, hazelnut, Ossau Iraty ", to the " Chilli sweets (fried split pea croquette, spices and fresh herbs), coriander and apple virgin sauce " and the “ Adour trout gravlax, cucumber pickles and brioche toast ” as well as the 6 other cocktail pieces and the hummus bar.

The same goes for drinks, which are also entrusted to Chemins de tables for welcoming guests before the ceremony as well as for the reception. We travel in our memories: Flavored water / Lemonade / Iced tea / Homemade syrup & lemonade for the non-alcoholic. Sangria dew with apricot, peach and lime verbena liqueur / Lacave wine "Tariquet 1ère grives" ... in memory of our studies in Bordeaux!

At dinner, to reinforce our desire for a convivial meal "like in the family", we opt for a "family style" dish, served in a common dish per table and not on the plate. India invites itself to our tables with the wine "terres d'épices": Dahl of coral lentils, roasted vegetables and apple, salad of fresh herbs & salted ricotta, rice with herbs & cashews . We have chosen not to serve as a starter to streamline the service and prevent the meal from dragging on. Consequently, the vin d'honneur was longer and more generous! Our only constructive comment would be related to the proportions of the dahl and/or rice. If we had to do it again, we would probably pay attention to the quantities being a little more copious on this item: teenagers/young adults could have taken it again without hesitation ;). It's the other side of the coin when the dish is so good: even if we're hungrier and there's a sequel... the gluttony makes us want to eat more!

After the meal, the cheese platters and the wedding cake (naked vanilla, peach & apricot cake), Chemins de Tables took care of a dessert buffet for the night which made a big impression on our guests: “ Mini pecan pies ”, “ Crispy puffs, lemon thyme whipped cream, blueberry confit and fresh blueberries ”, “ Lemon bergamot and earl gray cakes, lemon cream ”, “ Coffee, infusions and mini cannelés ” were there for us energize you to dance the night away!

You will understand, we loved that they are so attentive to their customers to offer a personalized menu, concerned about the environment and so creative. Finally, the kindness of Juliette & Charly as well as the members of their team only adds to the happiness of collaborating with such a talented caterer and whose harmony of flavors in each bite had quite an effect, both with the bride and groom. only guests! Two months later, our guests are still talking to us about the caterer: they felt pampered, pleasantly surprised by the original flavors and delighted by all these fresh products! We will remember this delicious taste trip for a long time to come from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m.! A huge thank you to you both Juliette & Charly, we wish all our friends to work with you for their wedding :)

For my wedding on July 1st, I had the chance to be accompanied for my costume by the wonderful team of Blandin & Delloye.

Getting married in France, in the Bordeaux region, but living in Montreal (Quebec), it was in the Montreal boutique that I was able to choose my costume.

Everything was perfect from start to finish... Cédric's impeccable service made all the difference as it is very pleasant but also rare these days to find a person so passionate about his work, who knows his job like the back of his hand. and who offers customer service of great professionalism and always with a smile and a lot of humor.

It was accompanied by two friends that I was able to make a discovery meeting and then I was able to choose each element that led to creating and subsequently wearing the costume that I imagined for my wedding. . At each stage of the creation process (which can sometimes be difficult if you have any doubts :)), Cédric knew how to be there, give us his opinion and help us make the best choice with regard to the style of wedding we were doing, the style of dress chosen by my fiancée, the location, the temperature at that time of year, but also my habits. This is also what I liked the most in our collaboration: the fact that my tastes, my basic style and above all my desire for comfort are at the center of the creation.

The result was exactly what I hoped so much for the color (because yes you have to trust Cédric that the color in the photos you like often does not appear the same when choosing the fabric! But he saw very , very fair!), only for the small details that make all the difference (presence of the lining on one of the sleeve buttons or on the hems, sewing of a sentence in the collar lapel). Also, the possibility of having additional costume fabric and lining for accessories (for the bride, the bouquet, the witnesses etc.) is really a plus!

The price may seem high at first glance when you are not used to making a custom suit, but it is so worth it both for the result and for the service received.

A big thank you to Cédric for this wonderful work and this great meeting (and also to Gauthier who was often there too during our meetings!).

We loved entrusting the assembly of a sand-colored stretch tent of 79m2 to Maxime and his beautiful team. We would do it again without hesitation! Referred by our wedding planner and our celebrant (Julie Bichon from Béguins et Moustaches), we let them work with closed eyes to determine what was possible to do according to our wedding venue and our budget.

We had rented the Moulin de Laboirie for our wedding, a green and very harmonious place, where nature takes its rightful place. We therefore did not feel the need to add a lot of material things, the place was rather sufficient on its own. But unless there were very few of us and we could predict the weather 24 months in advance, it was reasonable to imagine that the tobacco barn wouldn't be enough to accommodate all our guests for a sit-down meal + enough space to dance . A tent was therefore necessary to create an extra space (emergency plan in case of rain, tent space for the meal – drying rack for dancing (or vice versa)). At our wedding venue, flooring was mandatory (and truth be told, considering the dew, probably necessary) if a tent was pitched. Plan around 2600€ for these two positions (Stretch tent – from 1700€; Floor – from 900€).

The result was magnificent! We will long remember this splendid tent, all lit up with guinguette garlands, in the middle of this green place. The tent really added an incredible cachet while mingling very well with the atmosphere of the Moulin and adding charm in all harmony. What a success! It really wouldn't have been the same atmosphere at our wedding without the help of these professionals and the service they offer.

For our ceremony, we really wanted to be outside among the trees but a solution would have been necessary to avoid the sun and the heat. When will beautiful sand-colored stretch sails be available at Velum?

Finally, we will not forget the kindness, kindness and professionalism of this team. It only added to the joy of working with them. The beauty of the tent we had rented had quite an effect, both with the bride and groom and the guests! A huge thank you to the whole team, we wish all our friends to work with you for their wedding :)

Moulin de Laboirie

A real favorite! When we discovered the Moulin de Laboirie in the summer of 2020, we were fascinated by the charm of the place (exterior/interior) and the atmosphere of serenity that reigns there. The old tobacco barn and the tree house for the newlyweds bring a cachet that we have not found anywhere else in the region and which deliciously reminded us of the barns and woods of our beautiful province of Quebec!

Jan & Séverine, the owners, are very warm, square and available: it can be seen that they want the bride and groom to have a great time and that everything is done in the order of things, with respect for each.

For our wedding (60 people), we rented the Moulin from Thursday (3 p.m.) to Sunday (11 a.m.). Thursday afternoon was reserved for setting up and the evening for a meal with all our witnesses who were staying on site. Friday was devoted to the preparation, the ceremony (4 p.m.), the reception (5.30 p.m.), the meal (8.30 p.m.) and the evening; Saturday brunch and "pool party", outdoor games and "Olympics" in teams. Sunday at the last coffee and storage (before 11am)! On a personal level, however, we arrived on Wednesday evening and left the premises on Monday morning to enjoy the Mill in complete peace of mind before/after our whole tribe joined us. Two more nights that allowed us to take the time to savor the memorable, dense and powerful moment that we had created!

We loved getting married there in the summer of 2022 and would definitely do it again! We let our wedding planner and celebrant (Julie Bichon from Béguins et Mustaches) manage the organization and the technical part, which perhaps requires more work here than elsewhere given the extent of the spaces and the architecture of the old tobacco barn (electricity, sockets, space for the caterer, etc.). But with some planning, hard work and ingenuity, it's possible to create something truly stunning here!

In the small points to keep in mind:

1) Go well identify the places upstream to choose a space for the ceremony according to the day and time scheduled for the ceremony AND the shade available in the garden of the entrance, in the orchard or under the oaks . Or conversely, choose a space and adapt the time of your ceremony according to the shade available.

2) Late evenings are cool at the Moulin (10 to 15 degrees cooler than during the day, even in the middle of a heat wave!) and the dew is very present. We were surprised! Provide blankets and warn your guests that a little wool and closed shoes will be appreciated to stay up late at night!

3) Unless there are very few of them, it is probably reasonable to imagine that the tobacco barn will not be enough to accommodate your guests for a seated meal + sufficient space to dance. There is therefore a strong chance that you will need a tent to create an extra space (emergency plan in case of rain, tent space for meals – drying rack for dancing (or vice versa)). In this case, the floor is mandatory (and truth be told, given the dew, probably necessary) if a tent is to be erected. Plan around 2600€ for these two positions (Stretch tent – from 1700€; Floor – from 900€).

4) On the hardware side, the tables available in the package are round and the wooden chairs, folding in Ikea's "Tärnö" style. Do not trust the photos thinking that all the furniture belongs to the Mill. We were the first to rent a lot of equipment for the big day. (wooden tables, St-Rémy chairs, outdoor pallet lounges for the reception, etc.)

5) It must be kept in mind that the place is rented as a “guest house” and not as a “gîte”. We are the only customers at the Moulin for the duration of the wedding but the place is not privatized. Distinction not always easy to make but which implies that the kitchen in the building of the rooms is not available (and in fact: closed), except in the morning when the owners serve breakfast. On paper, we saw no problem there. In reality, with 17 people staying on site, including babies … not always practical depending on the schedules and the different needs of the groups.

The fact remains that the Moulin de Laboirie will remain for us a magical and fabulous place to celebrate your wedding there in a setting full of charm and a bucolic atmosphere: there is a "je ne sais quoi" of charm to it. English here. A very “Countryside chic” atmosphere. The formula includes breakfasts for people staying on site and this was a huge advantage. This allows you to have less to plan and enjoy each morning with peace of mind. This comes in addition with the warm smile and the legendary kindness of Séverine: which is a plus of such a good morning!

Finally, a huge thank you to both of you Jan & Séverine, your presence on site is reassuring and your discretion is to be underlined. You made us feel as comfortable as family and welcome at all times. You two form a golden duo to make the Moulin shine! We wish all our friends to collaborate with you for their wedding :)

We therefore did not feel the need to add a lot of flowers and Pauline was able to perfectly grasp our need for a natural, rustic and discreet floral atmosphere. With a budget of 1800€, she knew how to illuminate our place of ceremony with her flowers and her flowery arch. Everything was magnificent: the bridal bouquet, the 7 compositions on the floor and the dozen small vials for the tables; the ceremonial arch (included in the budget) and its flowery corner.

We loved that she was environmentally conscious, her local approach to composition and her creations in planters that we could move during the day from one space (ceremony, reception, meal) to the 'other.

Finally, her kindness as well as that of her mother, with whom she works, only adds to the happiness of collaborating with such a talented florist and whose beauty and harmony of compositions have had quite an effect, both with the bride and groom. only guests! We entrusted the beauty (at the wedding venue) of the bride and groom as well as the hair and make-up of 4 witnesses to Cécile (hair) and Sophie (make-up) during our wedding at the Moulin de Laboirie in St -Como (33). Referred by our wedding planner and celebrant (Julie Bichon from Béguins et Moustaches), we let them work ahead of time with our eyes closed. We shared Pinterest boards of hairstyles and makeup styles as well as our favorites of the work already done by Cécile and Sophie which are visible on their website and their social networks FB and Instagram.

The end result is there: the bride's hairstyle, done at 1 p.m., was beautiful and delicate and lasted until the meal. The makeup was really great and lasted all night. Our witnesses were also very beautiful and their hairstyles and makeup would not have been possible or of such quality without these professionals.

Despite these great results for which we are grateful to Cécile and Sophie, we may have regretted 3 things that could have made this meeting more precious. We allow ourselves to share them here for the purpose of transparency for future brides and a constructive desire for continuous development. Everything should be taken with a grain of sand since we are well aware that we undoubtedly have our part to play in the following remarks: we would have appreciated greater communication from Cécile and Sophie. Whether during the test (which lasted 1 hour instead of the planned 2 hours) or on D-Day at the wedding venue, we had the impression that Cécile and Sophie came to execute (in a very professional manner) an "order beautification" when we needed to be guided and love to bond with our collaborators. None of the women who called on their service that day had never been married or had their hair done/made up professionally: it was not always easy to understand what one could do and ask for in the time allotted. We believe that this explanatory role falls to them. We would also have appreciated if they could capture the relaxed atmosphere of the bride and groom and their witnesses and simply join in the general atmosphere rather than a withdrawal before, during and after their performance, although we understand that in other contexts, their great discretion is no doubt appreciated. Finally, we would have appreciated more flexibility. Whether during the test or on D-Day, we felt an uneasiness, like a feeling that they were in a hurry. There is nothing wrong with that and any imperatives in following can be understood. But maybe share it before signing the contract so that your clients know what to expect and that they can have the choice to collaborate under these conditions? For our part, with a ceremony at 4 p.m., it was a deliberate choice that there would be no question of rushing in the morning and we did not appreciate your urgent remarks on your arrival even if we understand your reasons. We don't have a "client is king" mentality, but on the other hand "the well-being of the bride and groom is a priority on D-Day" was obvious to us.

Despite these remarks, Cécile and Sophie remain professionals whose approach to sublimate lightly and naturally has been a success. The option offered by Sophie (makeup) of a 3-step trial (from lightest to densest) was very clear and effective! In addition, their duo allows a "hairstyle + make-up" formula in 1 hour, simultaneously, which is very pleasant on D-Day to save time! Finally, the possibility they offer to travel to the wedding venue was precious for us and we thank them for it.
